About

Thomas L. Willis, PCAM is the Tomasaurus Rex, so named by his brilliant and tech-savvy brother, after a discussion about the relative merits of being “old school.” Tom is slowly inching towards being a full participant in the 21st century,  but remains dedicated to advancing the Community Association Industry through innovative ideas based more on the fundamentals of ethics and good business than the tech flavor of the day.

Tom owns Association Bridge, LLC to advance his professional mission to create spaces where community association leaders and the professionals who serve them can successfully navigate the challenges they face, reach the goals they choose, find satisfaction and joy in their service, and make raving fans of association members. This blog is an extension of that goal.  I know most of my readers and listeners are in the community association field.  But even within that field, there is a huge diversity in experience and perspective. Every blog, every article I write, and every presentation I give are governed by these three guiding lights:(1) I try to tap into time tested principles whenever possible, (2) invite others to tell me where I might be wrong, remembering a quote from Tom Peters “if you are not a different person every five years you are not doing your job as a human being,” and (3) Communication is at best a one off and the best I can do is to continue to grow my skill in creating a space for connection. These forms of communication are not the end but the beginning of connections, growth, and relationships.

You can find more brain food on the Association Bridge website .
